For a safety-critical connection used in passenger transport, a bracket is required as a welded assembly through which loads are absorbed and transferred via multiple eyelets and holes.The challenge
Due to the nature of the application, there are heightened requirements for weld quality and traceability. A project for L+M Industriestahlbau.
The assembly must be manufactured in execution class EXC3 in accordance with EN 1090 and the welding guidelines.
High-quality welds are required throughout, along with the precise positioning and fit of the welded sockets, as well as comprehensive quality assurance including 100% magnetic particle testing (MT)
and an acceptance test certificate for the component—which weighs approximately 16 kg—with tight dimensional and positional tolerances.The solution – unique and clever
L+M Industriestahlbau manufactured the bracket in accordance with EN 1090 and had its dimensional accuracy and welds inspected and certified by its in-house inspection staff.
Finally, the component was externally coated with a zinc flake coating. The result was a dimensionally accurate, tested, and fully traceable assembly that meets the high safety and quality requirements.Specification
