Initial situation

During mixing processes in industries such as food, pharmaceuticals, and chemicals, fine dust in open or partially open containers inevitably rises – with noticeable consequences for workplace safety, product quality, and cleaning efforts.

The key difference lies in the principle

A single extraction arm can cover only a limited portion of the container opening and captures only a portion of the rising dust in that area.
An extraction ring, on the other hand, creates a uniform airflow across the entire opening and reliably captures the powder before it can spread throughout the room.

The Smart Solution from L+M

The custom-made extraction ring from L+M AG Extraction systems solves the dust problem right at the source: It forms a semicircular enclosure around the mixing vessel, ensuring there is sufficient space for filling, and captures the rising powder along this perimeter, rather than extracting it – as with a conventional extraction arm – only at specific points and with significantly less effectiveness.

If the mixing process is carried out from above through an inlet, the suction ring can also, if desired, encircle the entire circumference of the container.

Each extraction ring is custom-designed for the existing container, taking into account the product to be processed and the required extraction capacity.
The necessary flow rates are calculated, and where necessary, the applicable ATEX requirements for combustible dusts are taken into account.

A convincing result

The capture efficiency is noticeably better, less dust is released into the facility, and dust exposure for employees has been significantly reduced.
