L+M Industrial Steel Construction: Mounting Brackets for Production Lines

The customer asked us if it would be possible to develop a tool for their production lines that would allow the compressors they manufacture to be screwed onto an assembly arm, which could then be coupled to our assembly stand.

The compressors are to be height-adjustable and rotatable to facilitate installation and significantly increase efficiency.

The challenge

Mounting stands are already in use, which is why our solution had to convince the customer both functionally and economically. The requirement was for a simply designed and cost-effective mounting stand that would allow the compressors to be raised to an ergonomic working height and rotated to the optimal position for the technician through a swivel motion. The system must be safe, reliable, and robust enough to withstand daily use.

The solution – unique and clever

L+M Industriestahlbau has developed a robust welded structure that uses a linear actuator to adjust the height of the mounting arm. A servomotor, in combination with a worm gear, rotates the compressor safely and precisely into the desired position. The necessary electrical components and the control system—including the operator panel—were designed by L+M, approved by the customer, and subsequently manufactured by L+M.
